Worried Life Blues

In the 1930s, Big Maceo was the best-known of the Chicago piano men, a king of the blues in his day. He inspired Otis Spann, who covered a lot of his songs. One oy my main characters, Azulee Smith, meets a Detroit bluesman who sings this to her. Worried Life Blues is more than a song; it’s about a state of mind, too.
