I'm Going to Sit at the Welcome Table

After that last post, I thought I’d write about something more hopeful. The Wings Over Jordan choir, headed by the Reverend Glenn T. Settle, had a radio show, beginning in 1937, that combined racial uplift with gorgeous choral music. The songs were spirituals, but the civil rights message didn’t escape anyone’s attention. This is their rendition of “I’m Going to Sit at the Welcome Table Someday.”
